Summer Adventure Camp

Here is something fun for the kids, and an opportunity to help a family in our Stake

I just wanted to send out this flier for my girls, Kayelee (16), Anna (15), and Rebekah (13)! They are putting on a "Summer Adventure Camp" for kids ages 4-9 on August 1-5 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. If you are interested please let me know. We appreciate your support! If you have friends or family that you think might be interested, please send this on to them as well. Depending on the interest, we may do an afternoon session as well as a morning session. We just don't know what the interest is yet. Also, if you would like information on the details of the days' themes let me know and I can send you an agenda! For example one of the days will be a "Crazy Holiday Day"! We will have the kids come dressed in a Halloween Costume, we will have an Easter Egg Hunt, decorate Valentine Cookies, and sing Christmas Songs! It should be pretty entertaining.
Thank you so much!

Visiting Teaching Message

From Sis. Whiting:
From the April General conference Elder Cook said "Our Latter-day Saint women are incredible!"
Much of what we accomplish in the Church is due to the selfless service of women.
God placed within women divine qualities of strength, virtue, love, and the willingness to sacrifice. So use your divine qualities by serving others.
In Moisah 2: 17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn awisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the bservice of your cfellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
So please go visit your sisters this month and call your supervisor and let them know you have visited your sisters.
Thanks for all you do!!
Sister Whiting

Yummy Bean Salad/Salsa

We had this salad at our last Relief Society Meeting.
It was so delicious.

Canned black beans, rinsed (I used four--this made a lot)
Canned black-eyed peas, rinsed (again, four)
Shoepeg or white corn. (I used white, because honestly I have no idea what
shoepeg is and I'd bothered Judy several times with texts from the grocery
store. One bag, just a regular small bag of frozen corn.)
Red onion. (I diced a whole one. Could have diced a bit more.)
Cilantro. (I chopped the leaves from a bunch, maybe a cup.)
Italian salad dressing. Judy says any work but she usually uses Kraft's
basic Light version. (I poured an entire bottle into the bowl).

Tomatoes or (as Emilee suggested to me earlier today) avocado would make
good additions.

Great with chips, good as a salad on its own, good over greens, and better
the next day than it is the day you make it.

Thanks for sharing Janna!
